Cookies Policy

  1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in the user’s browser, which is necessary for providing interactive services when browsing the web. Every time the user loads the website, the browser sends the cookie back to the server to notify the website of the user’s previous activity.

By using our website (hereinafter, the “Site”) and agreeing to this Cookies Policy, you consent to Almirall S.A.’s (hereinafter, “Almirall”, “We” or “Us”) use of cookies in accordance with the terms of the policy.

  1. Possible types of cookies

 a) Session cookies: these are temporary cookie files, which are erased when you close your browser. When you restart your browser and go back to the site that created the cookie, the website will not recognize you. You will have to log back in (if login is required) or select your preferences/themes again if the site uses these features. A new session cookie will be generated, which will store your browsing information and will be active until you leave the site and close your browser again.

b) Persistent cookies: these cookies stay stored in a browser subfolder even after the user has closed the website. They will re-connect to the website when it is next opened, remembering information that facilitates navigation (direct access to the service without needing to repeat the login process) or providing a commercial service (offering products or services related to previous visits). Persistent cookies remain until they are deleted manually, or the browser deletes them based on the duration period contained within the persistent cookie’s file.

 Cookies can also be:

c) Own: cookies created by the website being visited.

d) Third-party: cookies received when navigating a website generated by a third-party service hosted by that website. For example, a cookie used by an advert or advertising banner on the website visited.

  1. The purpose of cookies

 a) Technical purposes: They are necessary for website function. These are known as “strictly necessary” cookies. They make it possible to control traffic from the server to multiple users at the same time, to identify system users and enable access as a user, etc.

b) Customisation: They make it possible for each user to configure aspects such as the language in which they wish to view the website, view the page, etc.

c) Analysis of performance: They allow measurement of the number of visits and navigation criteria for different areas of the website.

d) Advertising: They allow effectiveness settings to be included in the advert provided on the web pages.

e) Behavioral advertising: They allow effectiveness settings to be included in the advertising on the website, based on information about users’ behavior.
